Underwater World Day 1 (28 October 2008)

Once again, Caleb and I had special permission to come for this trip. Also, I have once again included a separate night post.

After Jinxgirl finished school for the day, her mum sent me over to board the bus.

As soon as we arrived, we put our belongings down at the Seminar Room and headed for the beach. Jinxgirl brought a beach ball and she and her friends took turns trying to inflate it. Finally, Ka Ying successfully inflated the ball. Jinxgirl left her friends playing volleyball and headed for the sea. Some of her other friends were trying to build a rock pool to prevent the tide from coming in too far. Everything went fine until the wall of the rock pool collapsed and caused the whole pool to erode. Sigh.

After some time, we returned to the seminar room for a talk about sharks. It was highly informative and portrayed sharks in a new light. All this time, I had thought sharks were cruel, cold-blooded, heartless butchers but after the talk, I realised that Man posed a greater problem to sharks than sharks did to Man. After the talk was over, some of Jinxgirl's friends swore to stop eating shark's fin soup.

Soon, we had dinner. Jinxgirl finished early and had a second helping of veggies: kindly provided by her friends!!! :D

After dinner was over, we went on a guided tour of underwater world. We saw slippery stingray, miniscule, worm-like fish and other cool animals of the sort up close. We even interacted with some of them in the touch pool!

Then, we took turns going to shower. Jinxgirl, Caleb and I were in the last batch. Hence, by the time we came out from the filthy shower cubicle, it was 12:15 am on 29 October 2008!
